WHEELIE BINS SETTING ON FIRE

Dear Residents,

We would like to make you aware of a recent issue affecting our community.

Over the past two months, there have been several reports of blue household bins being taken from residential properties during the afternoon and evening. These bins are then believed to have been taken to Grotton park, Car Park where they have subsequently been set on fire.

At present, no suspects have been identified. However, we have received reports describing a group of youths seen pulling a bin towards the car park. We are keen to establish who is responsible and would appreciate any information from the public that may assist our enquiries.

If you have witnessed any suspicious activity, have CCTV or doorbell footage, or have any information regarding those involved, please get in touch with Greater Manchester Police.

We have noticed that blue bins appear to be specifically targeted. Where possible, we would encourage residents to keep their bins out of sight and secure when not awaiting collection, as this may help prevent further incidents.

Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could prove valuable to our investigation.
