Incident Reference: 000877-230926 Officers from the Oldham Neighbourhood Crime Team are investigating a series of shed burglaries and attempted shed burglaries that occurred during the early hours of 23 September 2026. A number of local residents have unfortunately fallen victim to these offences, with items being stolen from sheds and outbuildings. It is believed that the offences have occurred between 0000hrs and 0230hrs. Enquiries suggest the offender's method is consistent. In several incidents, shed locks have been damaged before hinges and fixings were removed to gain entry. A number of sheds, garages and other outbuildings have been targeted. We are appealing for information and footage. If you have CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage covering the above time period, please check your recordings, save any relevant footage and contact police quoting the incident reference 000877-230926. Even information that may seem insignificant could assist our investigation. We would also ask residents to report any suspicious behaviour around gardens, driveways, alleyways or rear access routes.
Please take a moment to check that your property is secure: ✅ Ensure sheds, garages, gates, doors and windows are locked and secure. ✅ Secure valuable items such as bicycles, power tools and gardening equipment. ✅ Consider installing additional security measures such as shed alarms, security lighting and high quality locks. ✅ Mark valuable property and keep a record of serial numbers where possible. ✅ Store higher value items out of sight.
