|
Dear residents,
Yesterday, officers from the Saddleworth & Lees and Royton & Shaw Neighbourhood Policing Teams joined forces with colleagues from our Roads Policing Unit, as part of Operation Hurricane, carrying out proactive enforcement activity across a number of locations including Failsworth, Hollinwood, Fitton Hill and Chadderton, as well as our own communities of Saddleworth & Lees and Royton & Shaw whilst travelling between deployment areas.
Operation Hurricane is a Greater Manchester Police initiative focused on tackling the illegal and anti-social use of vehicles, including off-road bikes, scramblers, Sur-Rons and other nuisance motorcycles that can cause significant disruption and concern within our neighbourhoods.
Throughout the operation, officers conducted targeted vehicle stops, patrols and enforcement activity in areas where concerns have been raised by local residents. The day's results included:
These results demonstrate our ongoing commitment to disrupting criminality, improving road safety and addressing the issues that matter most to our communities.
We would like to thank everyone who continues to report concerns and share information with us. Community intelligence plays a vital role in helping us identify problem areas and direct our resources effectively. PS 1650 Andy Holian
