Traffic Operation as part of our commitment to Vision Zero

Today, officers from both the Rochdale North & East Neighbourhood Teams, conducted a road traffic Operation at a number of locations across Rochdale.  They were joined by officers from the Road’s Policing Unit, Traffic PCSO’s and local authority licensing staff.

In total around 90 vehicles were stopped.

In the main, most vehicles and drivers were operating within the law.  However a number of drivers have been dealt with regarding a variety of offences, which resulted in the following. 

1 x driver has been summonsed for having no insurance and only a provisional licence.

2 x vehicles seized under s.165 RTA for having no insurance 

1 x stolen van has been recovered, which was outstanding from 2025.

9 x traffic offence reports (TOR) for not wearing seat belts.

1 x TOR for having illegal tints over 30 percent light, as well as having to remove the tint in question.

2 x TOR and a £100 fine for non-conforming registration plate.

1 x TOR using Mobile phones. 

1 x TOR for having no insurance.
