Speed Enforcement Vans

Good afternoon everyone,

As you may be aware, speeding is an ongoing problem that is frequently reported to the police. A lot of our complaints in the local area are focused in and around Littleborough and Wardle.

If you were driving through Smithy Bridge or along Birch Road on Thursday or Friday last week, you may have seen that GMP’s speed enforcement vans were located in these areas!

Our vans have caught a total of 44 speeding vehicles, with top speeds of 43-mph in a 30-mph zone. As a result of this, these drivers will be receiving fines, speed awareness courses, tickets and/or points. 

By identifying and dealing with drivers who choose to ignore these limits, we are keeping our communities safer for other drivers, cyclists and pedestrians alike.
