Proactive Policing at Chinatown — Two Arrested Following ASB Reports |
Today, officers from the Town Hall Neighbourhood Policing Team, supported by colleagues from the Longsight Response Team and a specialist unit, were deployed at Chinatown following reports of large groups engaging in anti‑social behaviour, including street drinking and suspected drug use. During the deployment, officers engaged with numerous individuals and carried out stop checks where grounds were established. This resulted 2 arrests,
• One male for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of Class C drugs
Officers also enforced the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in place across the city centre, issuing warnings and taking action where behaviour risked causing harassment, alarm or distress to the public. This proactive operation is part of our continued work to tackle anti‑social behaviour, drug‑related activity and associated criminality in busy areas of the city centre. We remain committed to ensuring Chinatown is a safe and welcoming place for residents, businesses and visitors. If you witness anti‑social behaviour or have concerns about activity in the area, please report it via 101, LiveChat, or 999 in an emergency. Your information helps us target the right places at the right times. | ||
