Please see the below scam alert from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.

A Greater Manchester resident has received an email claiming they will receive a home visit to check smoke alarms are fitted and working, with a £500 charge for homes without a working alarm.

This is a scam. We do not charge for our home fire safety visits (Home Fire Safety Assessments) or for any smoke alarms we fit as part of the visits.
