Weekend Patrol Update – Castlefield & Deansgate

Over the weekend, PC Riaz and PC Gregory were on foot patrol across Castlefield and the Commercial District, continuing our proactive work to keep the area safe and support the local community.

During their patrols, officers were approached by a member of the public who reported concerns about a male who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, weaving in and out of the road and acting in an anti‑social manner.

The male was located shortly afterwards on Deansgate. Officers carried out welfare checks and confirmed he was fit and did not require any medical attention.

A check of his details revealed that the male was wanted for recall to prison. He was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.

Our neighbourhood officers will continue to carry out high‑visibility patrols to reassure the community and respond quickly to concerns raised by members of the public.
