Longsight Community Open Day

Join us for a first-look at Longsight's flagship custody suite following its refurbishment, as well as our family fun community event!

Greater Manchester Police’s (GMP) largest custody suite in Longsight will reopen in May 2026, following an extensive refurbishment to improve the safety and experience of staff and detainees.

Come and have a first look at the state-of-the-art facilities by attending our open day on Saturday 9 May, 2026.

You can expect a guided tour, crime prevention advice, find out how you can work for GMP, a fire engine, police vehicles, the GMP Museum, and a meet and greet with your local neighbourhood officers - including the GMP horses!
