Use double-locks or deadbolts where possible. Ensure gates, garages, and sheds are locked and secure. Make your home look occupied Leave a light or radio on when you’re out, or use timer switches. Keep curtains or blinds drawn during darker hours. Protect personal items Keep valuables out of sight from windows. Mark property with your postcode or use tracking devices where possible. Store car keys away from doors and windows to prevent key‑fishing. Improve visibility & deterrence Install motion‑activated security lighting. Consider CCTV cameras or a video doorbell.
