Keeping our roads safe |
||
|
Good afternoon,
You may have seen an increased police presence around Westhoughton this morning as we conducted a planned road safety operation in marked and unmarked vehicles.
The Westhoughton Neighbourhood Team and colleagues from the Road Policing Unit and Bolton's Tutor Unit teamed up to deal with a number of drivers for a variety of traffic offences. Our main aim was to target the ‘Fatal Four’ offences which are speeding, using a mobile phone, drink/drug driving and not wearing a seatbelt. Fatal Four offences are responsible for most road deaths or serious injury collisions.
In total we issued: The Neighbourhood Team receive regular complaints from residents and local Councillors about road safety matters. We are committed to keeping our roads safe and we will continue to conduct regular traffic operations like the one today.
Kind regards PC Catherine Jackson
