Operation Sceptre - knife crime week of action

During Operation Sceptre on 17th November 2025, GMP officers attended Bury Interchange to support Metrolink staff and security teams with passenger ticket checks. A total of 900 passengers were engaged during the two hour operation, with 36 penalty notices issued by Metrolink staff for travelling without valid tickets.
