Attention Tottington and surrounding areas.

Police are investigating a number of burglaries in the Market Street area of Tottington last night which were committed around 03:00hrs in the morning. The offender made their way to a number of business and residential properties forcing entry by smashing windows or entering via insecurities. 

Police, PCSOs and forensic officers have attended a majority of the incidents but whilst we actively seek this criminal please bear the following in mind.

Lock all doors every time you go to sleep or leave the property and shut windows at night, even when warm.

Set alarms where available and use timers or other facilities to make your house appear less vulnerable.

Do not leave cash, tills or charity boxes visible to prevent interest.

Report suspicious activity to Police, this criminal was walking around with a balaclava on in summer, we will attend these calls for service. If you someone around your house or neighbours in the early hours please phone 999 to report.

Patrols have been increased in the area this week during the identified times and our specialist Neighbourhood Crime team are investigating with a view to making any arrest promptly.
