Neighbourhood Policing Week highlights ongoing community work across Greater Manchester

Monday 23rd June 2025 marks the beginning of national Neighbourhood Policing Week 2025, which will see forces across the country highlight and celebrate the vital work being done in local communities.

In Greater Manchester, teams across the entire force-area work day-in, day-out to tackle the crimes that matter most to the people across our diverse towns and cities.

Our proactive crimefighting approach has seen us continue to tackle crimes that people report to us and tell us about - including burglaries, vehicle crime, and anti-social behaviour.

Each teams work on a precise and bespoke approach to the problems that present themselves in their area, working with the relevant partners, local authorities and public to drive down crimes and tackle the root causes of issues.

This can include working with specialist GMP resources to tackle specific issues – such as off-road bikes (Operation targeting anti-social behaviour on motorbikes, e-bikes and quadbikes goes from strength to strength | Greater Manchester Police), working with councils to secure closure orders (Property closed in Stretford as neighbourhood officers tackle ASB and drug dealing | Greater Manchester Police) and seizing everything from money to potentially deadly substances (25 litres of illicit suspected THC liquid seized during warrants in Oldham | Greater Manchester Police).
