Ten arrested in police crackdown on organised immigration crime across Greater Manchester

Our dedicated modern slavery and organised immigration team are investigating organised criminal networks based in Manchester, suspected to be involved in smuggling people into the UK, and this morning (10/06/2025) they have conducted a series of 15 warrants, with support from officers across the force and partners from Immigration Enforcement.

A number of the locations targeted were local businesses including a travel agent, money exchange business, mini-mart, and takeaway. Warrants were also executed at residential addresses.

We arrested eight men and two women – aged between 19 and 52 - on suspicion of conspiracy to facilitate a breach of immigration law by assisting illegal entry into the UK, conspiracy to money launder, and participating in the activities of an organised crime group.

A significant quantity of cash, documents, and electronic devices were seized and will be examined as part of our investigation.
