Did you know that we have a dedicated team of Special Constables that work very closely with the City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team?

Special Constables have the same function and powers of regular officers but provide their time on a voluntary basis, often committing a few hours a week alongside their full time jobs. Our Specials often live and/or work in the City so have a vested interest in addressing community concerns.

Having listened to concerns from the community, the Specials have, this week, been engaged in tackling Anti-Social use of vehicles in and around the Liverpool road area. Several tactics have been used and education and engagement has been the overreaching priority alongside enforcement where necessary. Speeding, obstruction, anti-social parking and noise nuisance have all been targeted.
