Two males were arrested in the early hours of 27th Jan for Burglary, in the Balmoral Drive area of Timperley.
A number of males had been sighted loitering around the side of an address and being 2am in the morning it was believed a burglary could be in progress. Officers from our Specialist Operations Unit and from our very own Trafford Response attended the area in mins and discovered there had indeed been a break to a property. The sound of people running away was heard from nearby and then a male was sighted in black clothing wearing a balaclava to which a foot chase resulted in an arrest. He was found in possession of a pair of mole grips with a euro cylinder lock barrel amongst other things! At the same time another male had ran off in a different direction and our Police Dog picked up on a scent. The dog has fantastically led the officer to another male hiding nearby, again with a balaclava in his possession and part of a euro cylinder lock in his pocket.
Both males arrested were taken to custody whereby Officers from our Trafford Neighbourhood Crime Team took on the investigation and interviews, leading to the pair being charged and remanded overnight for court today.
