Police weed out cannabis farm.

Longsight neighbourhood team have this week discovered and dismantled a cannabis farm in the local area, officers were called to a strange noise coming from an address in Longsight area following a high court enforcement officer attending the address to discuss an unrelated matter.

Upon entry to the property, officers discovered four rooms full of cannabis plants, with approximately 200 plants in each room as well as a small grow in the loft space. The plants were chopped down and the lighting, and other hydroponic equipment were sent for destruction.

The cannabis was weighed before it's destruction and there was 177 kilograms, which has a street value of approximately £150,000. Cannabis farms cause harm to the community, because of the people that are exploited to look after the farms are often victims of modern slavery, this then trickles down into the local area with people committing crime to fund their addiction and habit.

Longsight Neighbourhood team are committed to disrupting and targeting people who believe they have the right to cause harm within the community and grow illegal drugs.

If you suspect you know where a cannabis farm is, please report it on line or call 101.

Attached are some photos of the cannabis to show the scale of it.
