On Tuesday 19th November 2024 Neighbourhood officers responded to reports of a disturbance in the area of Hulme High Street.

A male matching the description of somebody involved was stopped by officers and detained for a search under section 1 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. 

The search revealed a large spanner inside his tracksuit bottoms and a cannister of pepper spray, which is a prohibited weapon under s5 Firearms Act 1968.

The male was arrested by your local neighbourhood officers and taken in to custody. The Crown Prosecution Service will now be consulted for a charging decision.
