On the 06th of October 2024, at around 19:00hr, PC 05728 FINCH and PC 08611 ENTWISTLE attended the area of Junction Road whereby a car park that is used for a local Rainbows and Brownies club is being used also by reported young adults to take drugs, namely Cannabis and Nitrous Oxide. This has raised concerns that the area is becoming associated with such uses and wanted the police to begin patrolling to help prevent it from escalating. 

Three males where stop and searched under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 due to suspicions being formulated. All three males failed to provide a reason to be hanging around in the area and where advised of the recent reports and concerns made to the police. As such, all males agreed to not return to the area and would find somewhere else to “chill”. 

This is still going to be involved in the plan of our patrols and drugs and anti-social behaviour is something which a proactive policing approach is intervened. Please report such things to the police to help the police build up their knowledge of the area.
