Good news following proactive work

Good afternoon residents of Moorside I hope your well!

Yesterday (13/05/24), at around 1545hrs, PC 17488 Butler has followed a suspicious vehicle on the Bell Lane area of Bury, with a dodgy looking number plate and driver looking slightly too young to be driving! The driver, when asked to stop sadly didn't when asked and a pursuit was initiated, the driver taking unnecessary risks by driving at speed, overtaking vehicles on the wrong side in a close knit residential area. The driver and his accomplice decamped the vehicle and fled, causing damage to a fence leaving the vehicle on Mafeking Avenue. After a short foot pursuit the driver was successfully detained. The vehicle had false plates and no insurance in place. I am pleased to report that last night, an 18 year old male was charged with 4 offences, Failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, no licence and no insurance and remanded into court to answer and face the correct punishment for his actions. The Moorside NPT are passionate about taking individuals and vehicles of this nature off the streets to keep them safe for our residents.

Thanks and have a good afternoon!

PC 17488 Jake Butler Moorside NBO
