Suns Out, Buns Out - Meat Thief Finds Himself Missing Out on Bank Holiday Sun

Good afternoon and Happy Bank Holiday Weekend from the NQ Team.

PC Barnwell 07808 has been out today dealing with ASB in the Neighbourhood during the sunny weekend.

Unfortunately there is one male that will not be enjoying that sun this weekend after walking into the hands off officers and trying to look at a spate of meat thefts in the city before being swiftly detained by our colleagues within the Northern Quarter. This efficient arrest began at 16:00 with PC Barnwell obtaining intelligence and CCTV linked to a theft nearby from a named repeat offender known to frequent William Fairburn Way / Oak Street / Thomas Street, who has been picked out from residents numerous times. Within two hours as 18:00 this male found himself in handcuffs and on his way to custody within a two hour turnover with our team keen to get a grip of this offender and bring him in for questioning with assistance from Deansgate colleagues PC McHardy and PC Gilby.

PC Barnwell has returned this morning to interview the offender whereby the male finds himself today charged with x1 Theft, x1 Possession of Class A drugs, x2 Public Order offences against officers and a further charge for a breach of his court bail conditions meaning he will spend this weekend enjoying the weekend in a custody cell with an application made to obtain a criminal behaviour order preventing him from entering Manchester City Centre.

We have further continued our efforts in the prevention of ASB in the area with three CPW's for persistent offenders issued today by PC Barnwell. Offenders are aware that breaching these conditions such as blocking residential / business doorways, public drinking / littering and leaving of drugs paraphernalia such as (pipes, needles, cigarettes) will escalate to arrests.
