Residential Burglaries

Police are aware and investigating numerous residential burglaries where vehicles appear to be the motive. 2x vehicles have been taken across the 5 reports with 1 recovered with several hours. We are investigating these as part of a series which is affecting neighbouring divisions also and are following up all lines of enquiry which includes CCTV trawls in the areas affected.

We urge all residents to be vigilant in the early hours as the burglaries are occurring between midnight and 0300hrs mostly. Please ensure security lighting is effectively positioned and working and any CCTV you may have installed covers access points to your properties/vehicles in particular. Anti-lock snaps are effective in preventing and stalling offenders also.

Residents in the areas of Westcott Grove to Swinford Grove and Hamilton Avenue, Royton and also around Sheridan Way, Chadderton please get in touch with police via any non-emergency platform should you have any CCTV relating to burglaries, vehicle crime and suspicious circumstances.
